State Compliance Test Packages
Potency
The most commercially important test in cannabis needs the most accurate testing methodology in the state.
AZDHS requires 4 analytes to be tested: THC-A, Delta 9-THC, CBD-A and CBD. We can test up to 18, but when you’re just seeking compliance, now is not the time to get fancy.
Unlike most labs that measure potency in a 2-dimensional plane, Treehouse Labs utilizes a 3-dimensional technique. We combine UV/PDA with qDa mass detection for the ultimate in data accuracy and repeatability. Providing increased resolution enables us to identify more cannabinoids than any other method.

Residual Solvents
To produce concentrates and edibles from cannabis flower, solvents such as ethanol, methanol and butane are used. These solvents work to extract cannabinoids from the plant during the formulation of the product. The presence of residual solvents can cause minor to severe human health effects.
To ensure consumer safety, the State of Arizona mandates specific products be tested for 19 analytes (solvents).
To achieve the highest level of accuracy for this test, Treehouse Labs uses a state-of-the-art gas chromatography separation and mass determination technology. This allows us to detect and identify residual solvents with accuracy and reliability.

microbial contaminants
Cannabis thrives in the same growing conditions that are well suited for microorganisms such as E-Coli, Salmonella and Aspergillus. To avoid serious, or even fatal, health effects – The State of Arizona mandates that certain cannabis products be tested for ten potential microbial contaminants.
This is where the microbiologists on our team really shine. To ensure the most accurate results and to avoid false positives, Treehouse Labs uses the industry’s most advanced microbial contaminant test from bioMerieux. This provides higher levels of DNA examination and identification of potentially harmful microorganisms.

Heavy Metals
From the soil it is grown in, any cultivated plant is susceptible to contamination from heavy metals such as lead, arsenic and mercury. These contaminants can have extremely harmful effects, even if barely present. To detect trace amounts of these harmful contaminants, an Inductively Coupled Plasma Spectrometry with Mass Spectrometric Detection (ICP-MS) is used with methods, and years of experience.
To perform these exacting methods, Treehouse Labs has partnered with world-renowned Dr. David Luttrull and his team at Lone Pine Analytical. With over 35-years of heavy metal testing, no one in the state is more qualified to ensure your consumer’s safety.

PESTICIDES, FUNGICIDES & GROWTH REGULATORS
Used to kill micro-organisms during the cannabis growth phase, it’s vitally important that these chemicals be removed prior to inhalation or consumption by patients and consumers. Exposure can result in mild, chronic, or even fatal side effects. In compliance with state regulations, Treehouse Labs tests against sixty-three compounds.
Due to the important nature of these tests, we employ a Waters TQ-XS Clinical Class Mass Spectrometer. We are the only cannabis lab in the state to have one and it provides an unparalleled level of data and accuracy.

Terpenes
Often overlooked but embraced by many, terpenes’ taste, smell and binding properties can define your cannabis product. Treehouse Labs considers them to be one of the most important contributors to the enjoyment of cannabis. We are pioneering the understanding and development of terpene engineering. Our Gas Chromatography Separation and Mass Determination Technology allows us to achieve, up to, 100X more sensitivity when determining a terpene profile. This unique visibility combined with our advanced data analytics, allows our customers to dial-in their desired terpene profile and resulting entourage effect.
Let us allow your creativity to shine and develop a revolutionary product!

Sampling
Required in some states but not Arizona, sampling is still a very effective way to audit your crop or batch quality. Let Treehouse randomly sample your output and help you better understand your product. We do this in a confidential setting and can help you to track batch-to-batch variances.
If you want to be proactive about product quality, having an independent audit is a proven and critical part towards reaching clinical standards. Let Treehouse Labs be your trusted partner.

moisture content
Although not required by AZDHS in Arizona, moisture content is the amount of water in a given sample of cannabis flower. The moisture level determines if it is dry enough for consumption.
Many states have regulations on what is an allowable level of moisture content in cannabis products that are sold at dispensaries. Let Treehouse Labs determine what yours is.

HOP LATENT VIROID (HpLVd)
Plants infected with HpLVd may have half the cannabinoid content of their healthy counterparts. If present, this often results in a dramatic drop in crop potency. Although it may result in a noticeably smaller plant, leaf deformation and/or a brittle stem, it may not show itself at all. If undetected, HpLVd can remain latent and pass on the infection to other healthy plants.
Treehouse Labs is currently beta testing a new protocol that would provide industry first insight, identification and understanding of this virus. We look forward to offering it to our partners in late spring of this year.

Environmental testing
Crop contamination can result in severe economic loss to any grower and should be remediated as soon as possible to minimize its impact. Whether it’s your crop, a strain you’re looking to acquire, or part of due diligence acquisition, understanding crop health is vital.
Let Treehouse Labs be you partner in determining crop health. With a wide array of testing for contaminants, bacteria and pathogens – we can analyze the DNA of the crop to determine its health and suggest remedies for any deficiencies found.

Data Analytics
Treehouse Labs’ use of data analytics really separates us from other lab alternatives. We love data – collecting it, analyzing it, interrogating it and having it tell us it’s story. Be it crop to crop comparisons, strain comparisons or operational improvement comparisons, let Treehouse Labs show you the effects through our advanced data analytics protocols.
