Where we get our geek on
Sample Prep
Sample Prep is the first step in the analytical chain. For this reason, it is critical in determining the accuracy and repeatability of results. At Treehouse Labs we take sample prep very seriously. We use a scientific cryogenic freezing and milling process to prepare our samples. This process maximizes the preservation and integrity of the sample.
Potency
Traditional potency analysis uses a limited 2-dimensional approach when determining results. This approach often leads to inconsistencies and customer frustration. Treehouse Labs utilizes a 3-dimensional technique combining UV/PDA with qDa mass detection for the ultimate in data accuracy and repeatability.
Residual Solvents
Residual Solvents, such as Ethanol, Acetone and Propane are used in the manufacturing of concentrates, the State requires us to test for 19 of them in total. Our gas chromatography separation and mass determination technology is configured for the highest resolution available allowing us to distinguish between the closest of isomers to ensure accurate identification and classification of any residue left over from processing.
The same technology has the added benefit of allowing us up to 100x more sensitivity when determining terpene profiles. Imagine the entourage effects you can measure and create with that level of visibility?
Pesticides
This is where our scientists really geek out. Our Waters TQ-XS is a clinical grade mass spectrometer. There are only two in the state, and one is used by a certain three-letter agency. The other is here at Treehouse Labs – ready to test your cannabis.
This piece of equipment uses spectral fingerprinting, a rapid method for the comparison and classification of biological material. It provides confidence and a level of accuracy the industry has yet to experience.
Micros
We utilize a state-of-the-art bioMerieux system with a focus on advanced method development. Allowing us, for example, to test four different strains of Aspergillus simultaneously. This reduces time and increases the accuracy of the test.
Heavy Metals
We have partnered with our friends at Inter Ag Service inc, otherwise known as IAS Labs, for the Heavy Metals portion of our full panel test. These methods are the best we have ever seen. We are proud to have Daniel McLane and his lab family as part of the team. We are proud to have LPA as part of the team.Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS)
This is the system developed to track samples, process data and provide results to our customers. Treehouse’s revolutionary, state-of-the-art, LIMS system (TreeLIMS) was was developed by 28 Gorilla who have previously developed technology solutions for companies such as Yelp and Google. The TreeLIMS system combines cloud computing, data analytics and advanced algorithms. This system not only controls the lab but is used to interrogate its data and make it meaningful for you.
